Shots....shots....shots

We had Miss Ella's 2 month appointment yesterday. I was dreading this appointment because of the shots....But my little angel did so good. She cried for about a second when they were giving her the shots. But once she was in her daddy's arms she was fine.

Her legs are a little sore, and they were tender to the touch. She had a little fever last night so the hubbs ran to the nearest store to get some children's tylenol. It seemed to help with the fever and the pain.

We also told her pedi we think she has a small case of acid reflex and we needed to do something because it was killing us to see her in pain with tummy aches. So she prescribed an antibotic to help her tummy. She said we should be able to see a differenece by this weekend! So we will let you know how that goes.

But this morning Miss Ella is back to her happy self!

Elliana Rose is 2 months old

Ella our love,

   I can't believe you are 2 MONTHS & you have grown so much. Time flies when your having fun. You have brought so much joy to your mama and dadda's lives.

• Your hair is lightening up
• Your eyes are changing from blue to a hazel/green color. Just like your dad. 
• You are so observant. You love to look at lights and ceiling fans. You love looking at mama and dadda. 
• You are starting to say Ahhhh & Coooo! 
• You are sleeping in your crib.
• You had some pretty bad tummy aches, so mommy eliminated dairy products out of her diet. It seems to helping you out a lot. 
• You can hold your head up for quite awhile. the best is when I burp you and you just stare at me.
• You follow daddy around the room....too cute
• You have given me a big smile!

You mean so much to us and we love you so much.  I continue to pray that you continue to grow and you feel nothing but loved. But for now just stay my little girl :)

We have a bedtime routine down. We get you ready for bed around 8:00pm (change your diaper & change you into your nightgown)

Then it's storytime. (So far you like the book "Kisses for Daddy)


Mama will then stuff your tummy full of yummy milk. (You <3 your food)

Then daddy will wrap you up like a little burrito and rock you to sleep...

For the past couple of nights you have been sleeping from 9:30pm to 2:30am (5 hours straight) then mama will feed you & change your diaper and then you go back to sleep. When I put you back to sleep I will rock you. You do the cutest thing, you will peek to make sure I'm there. Then you close your eyes and you have the biggest smile on your face. Melts mama's <3. You then sleep for another 4 hours and will wake up around 7:00am where mama will feed your tummy again.

Mama & Dadda can't thank you enough! We know what sleep is again...

Getting ready for the day
We wake up around 8 to get you ready for the day.

1st we it's bathtime, which you love when mama sings to you.....Splish splash I was taken a bath....and you love to look at your duckies.

You don't like to be cold so I bundle you up in the towel. You hate when we put lotion on you but mama warms it up so you don't mind it too much.

You are so much fun in the morning. You are wide awake and such a happy girl. Filled with smiles & giggles. Some days we just lay in bed and talk. It is the perfect way to start my day. After about 40 minutes you are hungry again, so mama will feed you & you go down for a 2 hour nap.

Nom Nom Nom
You eat about every 2 hours during the day. Although in the evening you tend to eat a little more frequently. Gotta fill that tummy before bedtime :)

Diapers & Clothes
You are on your last package of newborn diapers & sadly I don't think we will be purchasing anymore. You are movin on up to size 1. Luckily we did not have to buy any diapers yet...

Your newborn outfits are getting a little snug. You are now filling out your 0-3 month outfits. So you have a whole new wardwobe :)

My body
Mommy has 1 pound to lose until she is back to her pre-pregnancy weight!

GERD's update

So we took Miss Ella to the Dr's today to make sure everything was okay.
First off she weighs 10 POUNDS.

Mama must have some good stuff :) But everything went well, I guess she doesn't have GERD's. Just a harder time digesting somethings...

::What a relief::

Her pedi wants me to try changing things in my diet. So I am 86ing all dairy products for the next week and a half to see if that helps her at all. Which is hard to do since I love cheese, ice cream....basically all dairy products. Oh well if it makes my baby girl feel better I'll do it!

GERD's GERD's go away

I started noticing that Ella's belly was a little hard throughout the day and around 6:00pm she gets a little fussy after her feeding. So I did some research and it seems that she has some of the symptoms of GERDs. Or maybe I'm just reading too much stuff on the Internet.

Anyways I went and got her some gripe water, which has helped her tummy.

One thing that helps is not to lie them flat after a feeding. So Nonnie aka my mom, bought her a nanny napper. It has worked miracles for miss Ella. She absolutely loves it & has began sleeping in it.
::The hubbs jokes around that it is the cadillac of baby beds :)

I called her pedi & she told me to try 1/2 ounce of chamomile tea deluted in 1/2 ounce of H20. So I am going to give that a try. Luckily infants grow out of this so hopefully she will soon. Failed: she wouldn't drink the tea...

::It saddens me to see my baby girl in discomfort. I wish I could make everything all better::

On a better note, Ella slept from for 4 1/2 hours last night, which is ALMOST "sleeping thru the night for infants. Hopefully this will continue...

6 weeks

I had my 6 week appointment yesterday && everything is golden. Plus I only have 6.4 pounds to lose! I cannot believe it's been 6 weeks since my miss ella came into this world. She is growing right before my eyes and I am enjoying every moment of  this stage. Because we all know it will go by way too fast and she will be crawling before I know it. She has definetly got some cheeks on her now and a double chin. She got it from her mama & daddy, we loved our food...& so doe's she :)

We go in next for her 2 month appointment! Which I am dreading because she will have to get her shots.
